Head Planter Workshop (6 & 13 June)
Head Planter Workshop with Monte Lupo Arts: 10–1pm Saturday 6 & 13 June.
In this two-part workshop held over two weeks, you will learn from artist Kim Green from Monte Lupo Arts to sculpt and decorate your own unique ceramic head planter.
In the first week's 3-hour workshop, you will learn a range of hand-building pottery techniques including: scoring and slipping; coil building; slab building; and mould pressing. When you return in the second workshop to learn about underglaze for bisque ware and how to apply different painting and glazing techniques. Your glazed piece will be fired twice following this second workshop (the final time with a clear glaze), and finished pieces will be available for collection from Plant Empire from Monday 22 June.
All levels of experience are welcome for this workshop, and all materials and equipment for the workshop will be supplied. Participants outside of Brisbane are encouraged to attend: classes will be run by webinar for those who are unable to attend in person, either as a result of COVID19 restrictions or remote locations, with workshop materials supplied for collection, local or postal delivery (select your delivery option at checkout when registering).
This workshop is suitable adults and children over 10. All Plant Empire workshop presenters involving children are Blue Card holders.
