Mosaic Paver Workshop (12 October 2019)
Mosaic Paver Workshop with Jane du Rand: 10am–5pm Saturday 12 October.
Following the great response we received for Jane du Rand's mosaic planter workshop, we are pleased to have Jane back for a second workshop to make a one-of-a-kind mosaic paver for your garden. In this workshop, Jane will show you how to design mosaics with a view to pattern colour and textures, and to cut and glue mosaics for your paver. Your finished piece will include specially made ceramic pieces by Jane du Rand.
Mosaic is an ancient art form that uses small pieces of tiles, glass or stone to produce intricately patterned designs. Hand-made mosaics are perfectly suited to garden design due to their exciting colours, dynamic patterns, and hard-wearing finishes. Jane du Rand's signature style combines traditional mosaic methods with hand-made ceramic sculptures to create a unique, three-dimensional finish to her art.
All materials and equipment for the workshop, including concrete pavers (25cm in diameter) and ceramic pieces to make your mosaic will be supplied.
All levels of plant experience welcome. Please wear closed shoes, clothes you can get dirty (or an apron), and your own gloves if you're allergic to latex. Morning and afternoon tea will be provided; please bring your own lunch (a fridge is available), or order in from Andonis café next door.
Cost: $200 / $180 (Multi-pass)
Multi-pass discount: Sign up for 2 or more Plant Empire events, or register 2 or more people for the same event, to receive 10% off the ticket price (discount will appear at checkout).
