Ceramic Hanging Planter Workshop (29 Nov & 7 Dec 2019)
Ceramic Hanging Planter Workshop with Jane du Rand: 6–9pm Friday 29 November & 2–5pm Saturday 7 December.
Join Jane du Rand for this exciting two-part workshop to make a one-of-a-kind hanging planter for your home or garden. In this workshop, Jane will show you how to construct, decorate and glaze one of her signature inverted cone planters.
Jane du Rand's ceramic planters are inspired by nature with intricate decorative leaf and insect designs, and you will be able to choose from a selection of Jane's unique stamps and moulds to decorate your planter. Your finished planter will have a strong leather hanger and its own self-watering wicking system to keep your hanging plants watered (but not over-watered!) all year round.
The workshop will be split over two sessions to allow time for your piece to be fired twice after each workshop, before and after glazing. You will be able to collect your finished piece from Plant Empire after 14 December.
All materials and equipment to make your planter in this workshop will be supplied. The workshop registration fee includes a $20 voucher for a plant from Plant Empire to complete your masterpiece.
All levels of plant experience welcome. Please wear closed shoes, clothes you can get dirty (or an apron). Light refreshments will be provided; you are welcome to bring your own food and drinks (a fridge is available), or order in from Andonis café next door.
Cost: $200 / $180 (Multi-pass)
Multi-pass discount: Sign up for 2 or more Plant Empire events, or register 2 or more people for the same event, to receive 10% off the ticket price (discount will appear at checkout).
