Creative Kids: Bird Garden Stake Workshop (15 April 2020)
Creative Kids: Bird Garden Stake Workshop with Monte Lupo Arts (5-8 years): 11–12 noon Wednesday 15 April.
This is one of a number of kids' workshops that Plant Empire will be hosting for creative kids during the Easter school holidays.
In this workshop, artist Kim Green from Monte Lupo Arts will work with young creatives to paint to bring a ceramic bird to life with coloured glazes. Children will receive a bird that has already been moulded from clay, and paint it in their own choice of colours and textures. Finished pieces will be kiln-fired by the Monte Lupo team and attached to stakes before finally being available for collection from Plant Empire from 22 April.
All materials and equipment for the workshop, including clay and coloured slip to make the decorations will be supplied. All levels of experience welcome. Please wear closed shoes and clothes you can get dirty (or an apron).
This workshop is targeted for kids 8–13 years old, although children a little younger or older are welcome to join where siblings are attending. All Plant Empire workshop presenters involving children are Blue Card holders.
This workshop will be livestreamed online for those who would like to join the class remotely. You only need a phone, tablet or laptop with internet access to join the livestream. To join the livestream, just register for the class through our website and you will receive the login instructions by email. Please register early to allow us time to send the workshop materials out to you in advance of class. We will also need you to bring the glazed artwork back to Plant Empire so that it can be fired before we return the finished piece back to you.
Cost: $25 / $22.50 (Multi-pass)
Multi-pass discount: Sign up for 2 or more Plant Empire events, or register 2 or more people for the same event, to receive 10% off the ticket price (discount will appear at checkout).
