Creative Kids: Mosaic Paver Workshop (16 January 2020)
Creative Kids: Mosaic Paver Workshop with Jane du Rand: 9am–12 noon Thursday 16 January.
This is the eighth in a series of kids' workshops that Plant Empire will be hosting for creative kids during the summer school holidays.
In this workshop, ceramic and mosaic artist Jane du Rand will work with young creatives to make one-of-a-kind feature mosaic paver for the garden. Jane will show kids how to design mosaics with a view to pattern colour and textures, and to cut and glue mosaics for the paver. Kids will be able to choose their own insect feature tiles from a selection of butterflies, bees, grasshoppers, dragonflies or elephant beetles that have been hand-made by Jane du Rand, and those who attended the earlier ceramic insects workshop will also have the option of using their own feature tiles for their paver.
This workshop is targeted for kids 8–13 years old, although children a little younger or older are welcome to join where siblings are attending. All Plant Empire workshop presenters involving children are Blue Card holders.
All materials and equipment for the workshop, including concrete pavers (25cm in diameter) and ceramic pieces to make your mosaic will be supplied. Please wear closed shoes, clothes you can get dirty (or an apron), and your own gloves if you're allergic to latex.
Cost: $90 / $81 (Multi-pass)
Multi-pass discount: Sign up for 2 or more Plant Empire events, or register 2 or more people for the same event, to receive 10% off the ticket price (discount will appear at checkout).
