Ensemble Cherubim: Winter's Fury (19 June 2022)
Ensemble Cherubim present "Winter's Fury": 7pm Sunday 19 June 2022.
Winter is coming and it’s colder than ever. Ensemble Cherubim invite you to experience the 2022 winter solstice through the sounds of their 18-piece string orchestra at the magical Plant Empire on Sunday 19 June.
A spine-tingling performance of the masterpiece “Winter” from Vivaldi’s Four Seasons leads this concert. It is followed by new works by Australian Composers Nicholas Buc and Connor D’Netto that explore the primal creative energy of winter. The evening ends with Schubert’s monumental “Death and the Maiden”, capturing the duality of darkness and hope within death and rebirth.
Known as Brisbane’s Brightest Young Artists, Ensemble Cherubim was formed in 2020 by co-Artistic Director’s Clare Cooney and Rory Smith. This chamber ensemble comprises of young dedicated string musicians who aim to grace audiences with high quality performances and concert experiences.
