Hanging Wall Planters Workshop (14 & 21 Aug)
Hanging Wall Planters Workshop with Monte Lupo Arts: 2–5pm Saturday 14 & 21 August.
In this two-part workshop held over two Saturdays, you will learn from artist Kim Green from Monte Lupo Arts to sculpt and decorate your own unique pair of hanging wall planters.
In the first week's 3-hour workshop, you will embellish two wheel-thrown circular planters (which will be thrown for you ahead of the workshop) using a range of hand-building pottery techniques including: scoring and slipping; slab-building, form alteration; mould pressing; carving. When you return in the second workshop, you will decorate your planters using your choice of underglazes. Your pieces will be fired twice following this second workshop (the final time with a clear glaze), and finished pieces will be available for collection from Plant Empire from 28 August.
All levels of experience are welcome for this workshop, and all materials and equipment for the workshop will be supplied. We don't send workshop reminders after you've registered, but you don't need to bring anything on the day, except closed shoes and clothes you don't mind getting decorated with clay. This workshop is suitable for adults and children over 10 and all Plant Empire workshop presenters involving children are Blue Card holders.
