Head Planter Workshop (14 & 21 March)
Head Planter Workshop with Monte Lupo Arts: 2:30–5:30pm Saturday 14 & 21 March.
In this two-part workshop held over two weeks, you will learn from Monte Lupo Arts artist Kim Green to sculpt and decorate your own unique ceramic head planter.
In the first week's 3-hour workshop, you will learn a range of hand-building pottery techniques including: scoring and slipping; coil building; slab building; and mould pressing. Sculptures will be bisque-fired after the first workshop, before you return in the second workshop to learn about underglaze for bisque ware and how to apply different painting and glazing techniques. Your glazed piece will be fired for a second time following this second workshop, and finished pieces will be available for collection from Plant Empire from Saturday 4 April.
All levels of experience are welcome for this workshop, and all materials and equipment for the workshop will be supplied. Please wear closed shoes and clothes you can get dirty (or an apron).
This workshop is suitable adults and children over 10. All Plant Empire workshop presenters involving children are Blue Card holders.
