Plaster tile with resin coating, 15 x 19cm
My technique involves drawing, painting and digital collage. I construct my images from an array of abstract cut-out forms and patterns layered with scribbles and visible brushstrokes. Integrating digital and hand-made elements I create my own artistic vocabulary. Colourful non-representational bits and pieces are scattered throughout the works like twigs, small branches or loose leaves. The finished image is printed with archival inks on fine art Hahnemühle cotton rug, then glued to a plaster tile and covered with a layer of resin. Pink cockatoos are part of a series of Australian birds. Many of them can be observed in our local parks and gardens.
