When "Not my monkeys, not my circus" meets "The Three Wise Monkeys"... The young lady in the piece is doing her best to ignore what is going on around her whilst the 3 Wise Monkeys (see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil) have secretly taken up residence in her luxuriously patterned gown and are also doing their best to ignore what is going on around them.
About the artist.
I love the exploration and experimentation opportunities that ceramics give me and regularly try new ideas. All of my work is hand-built and ranges from garden sculptures to vases, wall hangings, decorated spheres and kitchenware. The pieces always include some form of texture, pattern or decorative 3-D sculptural elements created using fabric, ceramic tools, stamps, and cutters. I also love colour which is always carefully thought out and incorporated into my work. Most pieces make use of underglazes, commercial crystal glazes and usually a combination of gloss and matt clear glaze to finish the pieces. I love to make items that are unique, one-of-a-kind, sometimes quirky and unusual, always different. As they are hand-built, no two pieces are ever the same. I have worked in art in some capacity whether full-time, part-time or as a hobbyist since the 1990s exploring painting, textile art, mosaics and, for the last few years, ceramics.
Collection or delivery.
This item is part of the Not My Monkey Art Exhibition, on display at Plant Empire from 25 July - 16 August 2026. Exhibition items are available for sale in person or online.
