This work is a cup and saucer painted with images relating to the three wise monkeys' adage to "see no evil, speak no evil, hear no evil", a message that is especially relevant to contemporary times as we are constantly bombarded with media images.

About the artist.

Christine Pickett works from her studio at Boronia Heights. She makes wheel-thrown ceramic vessels painted with ceramic underglazes featuring Australian wildlife, birds and flora, often with a humorous twist. She likes to bring an appreciation of the creatures that inhabit our native surroundings into our everyday life and enjoys making functional artworks that depict images that make the viewer aware of the beauty and sadness of life.

Collection or delivery.

This item is part of the Not My Monkey Art Exhibition, on display at Plant Empire from 25 July - 16 August 2026. Exhibition items are available for sale in person or online.
