By artist: Samantha Kenafake

Ceramic. 28 x 28 x 40 cm

This artwork is a hand-built vessel/urn in toast stoneware clay. Different textures have been used to represent textures of nature: tree bark, parched earth, foliage, and the way light throughout the day can create light, shadow, tone and texture.

About the artist.

I have been learning and making pottery pieces since 2022 at the Carys Martin Ceramics studio and it has become a passionate hobby. I take inspiration from nature and like to make functional (and sometimes dysfunctional!) hand-built pieces.
