Lino Print Workshop (22 February 2026)
Lino Print Workshop with Hayley Moody
10–1pm Saturday 22 February 2026
Discover the fundamentals of lino printing with instructor Hayley Moody in this 3-hour introductory session on the timeless art of lino printing to learn how to design, cut and print onto paper and textiles.
Learn the complete creative process—from conceptualising your design through carving and transferring prints onto both paper and fabric surfaces. Perfect for beginners seeking hands-on instruction in this versatile printmaking medium.
This workshop starts with a quick look at the style of lino print and its origins, after which Hayley will explain the visual style and elements of good design when it comes to this art medium. Hayley will demonstrate how to translate a design and use various lino cutting tools to create different shapes onto lino. Once you’re in the groove of carving, you will then cut a simple design, roll paint onto the lino and print your first lino print onto different types of paper. We will then move on to experiment with this design to explore different lino printing techniques including reduction and jigsaw.
As you build your confidence in lino printing, you will have the opportunity to design your own lino print and transfer it onto the tile to carve, paint and print onto cards and a tea towel or bag using an etching press. You will take home several paper prints plus one textile product (a tea towel or bag) printed with your designs, as well as your finished lino prints that you can re-use at home.
Materials and Collection
All tools, materials and equipment for this workshop are provided. Please wear closed shoes and an apron if you are worried about staining your clothes.
