The symbol of the nest is a powerful connection to home, comfort, security and love. By shaping the nest into a love heart, I have created an even more symbolic gesture and emphasised the special love a home can create. The three eggs are also powerful symbols of fertility, creation, birth, and life. The number three is a strong symbol in itself, representing harmony-balance-completeness and mind-body-spirit. In some religions, three symbolises the trinity and divine creation, while in folklore three symbolises beginning, middle and end.

About the artist.

Robbie Erskine is a contemporary fine artist from Brisbane, Australia known for her magical realism and surrealist works depicting the animal kingdom. She has achieved a Bachelor of Fine Art, a Diploma in Visual Art and a Bachelor of Graphic Design and has been painting and drawing for over 25 years. Her practice has developed over this time, with the focus on creating artworks of the animal kingdom with a surrealist twist, a whimsical twist, a narrative, a spiritual element, or a comment on the environment. Her award-winning works have been included in group exhibitions both in the gallery setting or online shows, and her art is held in private collections in both Australia and internationally.

Collection or delivery.

This item is part of the Plant Empire Small Wonders Exhibition 2026, on display from 9 May - 7 June. Exhibition items are available for sale in person or online.
