She sat and let the day’s drama wash over her. Having abandoned her shoes, she embraced the stillness of the room and allowed herself the rare luxury of simply being. The day had begun full of promise and optimism had inspired the vivid red dress as a quiet act of defiance, as though daring the gods to rob her of her joy. But there had been too many people, too many problems, and far too much noise. Somewhere amidst the chaos she had begun to doubt her own ability to navigate the currents before her. She exhaled slowly. Beyond the window, the sea stretched towards the horizon where a lone sailboat slipped effortlessly finding its way across the water. It was a gentle reminder that not every storm is ours to weather, not every burden ours to carry. Somewhere between the noise and the events of the day, she remembered that peace begins the moment we choose our own path rather than being swept off course by the turbulence of others.
About the artist.
Fran Melton is an artist who seeks to inspire others through her use of colours and bring a sense of peace and connection to people and nature. Her watercolor paintings focus on fresh vibrancy and simplicity, utilizing strong, bold colors to convey powerful messages. Fran’s work favours exploration of the feminine form. Her pieces evoke a deep sense of beauty and balance with the viewer and she also likes to create a sense of fun and delight with her more colourful artwork. Fran’s work has been sold at several exhibitions and Galleries in Brisbane including "Recovered Futures" (2024, 2025 and 2026) and various Plant Empire Exhibitions.
