Description

This piece was inspired by the ethereal, drifting thing that is a cloud, and wanting to take hold of things that can't be touched.

Clouds are dreamy things
Billowing out of my reach
Softly above the trees

To capture a cloud
To hold a dream
Finding a shape
In woven memories

This work can be hung as an art piece in an indoor or outdoor space, or in an atrium or stairwell. It was previously displayed as an installation at Dogstar boutique in Brisbane and is now available for purchase.

Vine and willow used in this piece have been sealed with Intergrain exterior UltraClear finish for mould and UV protection. A low wattage LED pendant light is included with the artwork. 

About the artist.

Megan Partoredjo is a Brisbane-based multidisciplinary artist. Her practice has evolved from her lifelong love of creating things with her hands - weaving, painting, knitting, drawing, sewing and sculpting. Using materials that she has gathered from nature, including recycled textiles, vintage finds, ink, thread and paint, she loves the challenge of bringing simple, honest elements together to create something lasting and beautiful. Megan says that each piece begins with a moment of inspiration from nature: “it may be a perfectly symmetrical seed pod, the texture or colour of a leaf, or elegantly entwined branches that first inspires the journey to incorporate this idea”. The end result appears as though it is nature’s version of what she had originally imagined: the materials lead the way and take her with them. She hopes her artworks enhance the beauty and calmness of a home and bring a joyful sense of wonder at the simple gifts from nature all around us.

Collection or delivery.

Due to the large size of this work, it is only available for collection or delivery by courier (not post). Artworks from this exhibition will be available for collection or delivery in the week following the exhibition. To collect your item in person, please select the 'in-store pickup' option at checkout; to have it delivered, please select either the Australia Post or courier option (Brisbane only) at checkout and your delivery fee will be calculated automatically.
