Lino Print Workshop (19 May 2024)
Lino Print Workshop with Hayley Moody: 10–1pm Sunday 19 May 2024.
Join Hayley Moody for this 3-hour introductory workshop to learn how to design, cut and print onto paper and textiles using lino printing techniques.
To start, we will look at the style of lino print and its origins, and then explore how to use various lino cutting tools to create different shapes onto lino. Once you’re in the groove of carving, you will then cut a simple design, roll paint onto the lino and print your first lino print onto different types of paper. We will then move on to experiment with this design to explore different lino printing techniques including reduction and jigsaw.
As you build your confidence in lino printing, you will have the opportunity to design your own lino print and transfer it onto the tile to carve, paint and print onto cards and a tea towel or bag. You will take home several paper prints plus one textile product (a tea towel or bag) printed with your designs, as well as your finished lino prints that you can re-use at home.
Hayley Moody is a lino print artist who sells her work under The Moody Moose label. She loves to give personality to her art, whether it’s a kooky animal or hungry pitcher plant.
This workshop is suitable for all skill levels: whether you struggle to draw or have a flair for various art forms, you will feel right at home. Please note that we don't send workshop reminders, so please be sure to add this event to your calendar as soon as you've registered.
