Monte Lupo Arts Studio Session (29 May)
Monte Lupo Arts Studio Session: 10–4pm Saturday 29 May.
Monte Lupo's studio session is a full- or part-day session for students who have previously completed a Monte Lupo Arts ceramics workshop and are looking for extra time to create with clay and develop their ceramics craft. You can either join for the whole day, or sign on for one or two 2-hour sessions to practice your hand building or wheel throwing skills.
This studio session is unstructured so an opportunity for you to make a second (or third or...!) head planter, garden dweller, or bird bath, or to tackle more challenging projects of your own design. You will have access to tools and equipment that are available in structured Monte Lupo workshops, including pottery wheels. Because you are already familiar with the basics of hand building and/or wheel throwing from your previous Monte Lupo workshop/s, you will be able to work independently on your own projects, but with the advantage of having a Monte Lupo artist on hand to answer questions or help you solve problems as they arise.
To keep the cost down for this session, and understanding that each student will have different input requirements for their individual projects, glazes are included in the registration fee, but materials and firing are offered at an additional cost of $20 per 10kg bag of clay; $50/kg for handmade ceramic tiles; and $10/kg for firing. Consumables (clay and tiles) are payable on use, and firing fees are payable after pieces have been fired and weighed.
You need to have attended at least one previous Monte Lupo workshop to join this session. Please wear closed shoes and clothes that you don't mind getting covered in clay, and avoid loose clothing, hair or jewellery. This workshop is suitable for adults and children over 10 who are accompanied by an adult.
Cost: $40 per 2-hours or $80 for the full-day session (10-4pm).
