Enchant your everyday with a limited-edition art mug handmade by ceramicist Carys Martin.

This exhibition showcases beautiful, handmade pieces of functional ceramic art that preserve the energy and spirit of the maker within each piece. The mugs in this exhibition have been created with a specific intention and meaning, inspired by Carys’ “Whispers from the Woods” oracle deck and companion book. Each artwork features woodland characters such as birds, fairies and plants; each are unique in its design and a true one-off piece to be treasured forever.

The "Enchanted Mugs" exhibition open in Plant Empire’s Glasshouse Gallery on 20 April 2024, and artworks will be available to purchase in person or online. Visit in person to look up the matching oracle reading or download it via the "Whispers" app.

About the artist

Carys Martin is an accomplished artist and experienced ceramicist, residing in the Redlands area of Queensland. With a solid background in print design and making, Carys has a unique eye for surface decoration which is evident in her ceramics. Many of her pieces contrast raw clay with shiny, smooth glazes and combine highly decorated designs with negative space. Working in ceramics since 2008, Carys has honed her skill to create practical, functional everyday art to one-off statement pieces that are now sought after worldwide. Inspiration comes from nature as well as her childhood in Cumbria, an area stepped in folklore and ritual.
